A six-metre-high kinetic sculpture installed at Puke Ariki Landing (just outside Puke Ariki Museum) during the 2014 Kinetika Festival. The sculpture is a collection of giant pinwheels created with thin sheets of coloured fiberglass mounted with wire and attached to steel holders, allowing the pinwheels to spin freely. The spinning, twirling, dancing, swooshing whimsical sculpture reminds the artists of their childhoods in India, where alleyways came alive with motion, and they would run to see the Firkee-Wala peddling his toy pinwheels. | 1 Ariki Street, New Plymouth Central, New Plymouth, New Zealand |
