From fine arts and contemporary crafts, to vibrant street art murals and seafront sculptures, the Coastal Arts Trail is an art lovers’ paradise, where you can immerse yourself in a creative, colourful world nestled amongst magical natural scenery and local hospitality.

Several world-renown art institutions take pride on the trail; the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery in New Plymouth, Sarjeant Gallery in Whanganui and Te Manawa Gallery in Palmerston North. However, the real magic lies in the hidden gems scattered throughout the trail regions, where welcoming artist communities take inspiration from the visual features of their natural surroundings.

While art is the focal point of the trail, the natural beauty of these regions is equally mesmerising. Wander amongst striking landscapes and endless coastal views.
