Mabel Vickers, once Grandma’s plant shop and now lovingly named after her, is the little black shop on College Street in the heart of Palmerston North. It’s where clay and colour come to life through hands-on pottery workshops, and thoughtful gifts line the shelves, each with a story to tell.
Inside, you’ll find a curated selection of ceramic pieces for everyday use, along with other beautiful, meaningful goods. It’s a space full of character, creativity, and pieces that feel like home.
Venture through the back and you’ll discover our pottery studio, the heart of Table Ceramics. It’s where Fiona’s hand built pottery is made, and where people from near and far come to slow down, get creative and make something with their hands. From mugs and platters to wavy bowls and vases, every piece tells its own story.
We also offer paint-your-own pottery sessions, using bisqueware made right here in the studio. It’s a relaxed, joyful way to explore your creativity using colour.
Workshops run year round through scheduled sessions, or you can book a private group (6 - 18 people) at a day and time that suits you. Bring your own drinks and nibbles to make the occasion even more special, whether it’s a birthday, hens do, team gathering, or simply a well spent afternoon with friends.
We’re open Fridays from 10am–3pm, or by appointment. Come say hello, we’d love to see you.
