Te Manawa is proud to host this vibrant exhibition celebrating the artistry and talent of the Manawatū, Whanganui, and Taranaki Embroidery Guilds.
This year’s theme honours the significance of Te Ahu a Turanga, a landmark project that connects our communities and landscapes across our rohe. In response, guild members have woven together heritage, creativity, and themselves into their works.
The stories stitched here reflect both tradition and innovation. Some pieces are original designs born from the makers’ own vision, while others draw inspiration from published patterns. (Be sure to check the catalogue for details.)
We invite you to explore, reflect, and celebrate the diversity of textile art. Don’t forget to cast your vote in the Viewer’s Choice competition, your voice helps shape the story of this exhibition.
