The adventitious aerial roots of a nearby row of Pohutukawa were the inspiration for this series of work.

Entangled and highly coloured stations along a meandering path of its own gestation, these “Prohututypes” represent a novel creative direction for Alex who (diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s in 2016), is learning to embrace a less controlled style, until now tending toward the figurative.
