Brahmavihara: Collages by Teresa Goodin

Opening: 4pm, Saturday 16 September 2023

16 September - 21 October 2023
CAS - Contemporary Art Space

Teresa will be exhibiting a collage series based on the Four Immeasurables in Buddhism, also referred to as the Four Divine Abodes or Four Infinite Minds. They represent awakened states of mind and the most wholesome aspects of our human nature. The Brahmavihara are mind/heart liberating practices which can awaken powerful healing energies that manifest as forces of purification transforming the turbulent heart into a refuge of calm, focused awareness. The Brahmaviharas enable us to engage in a conscious, gentle dismantling of the conditioning that binds us to suffering.

Teresa Goodin is an Artist and Alchemist from Taranaki. She graduated from the Quay School of the Arts in Whanganui in 2000 where she specialised in printmaking and photography. Teresa is an Esoteric Hypnotherapist, plant medicine specialist and Buddhist Chaplain. She is co-founder of LUMEN Studios and Gallery based at the old Tataraimaka Cheese factory, 20mins south of New Plymouth.
