Suitable for children 7-12 years old
Enamel is a type of brightly coloured glass applied to metal (copper) and then heated in a kiln to fuse it resulting in a beautiful glass like surface. In this class you will have some pre-cut shapes to choose from, and learn how to put the enamel onto the metal. Once dry, you will be able to watch the magic of it being fired (melted) in a kiln, and then watch as the colours develop while cooling down. Your piece will then get polished, and finished into a brooch, button, pendant or fridge magnet.
We will break the morning up to include design and making time, morning tea and lunch breaks when the kids can relax in the sitting room, or play outside for a short while.
Numbers are kept low so that I can help everyone achieve something unique.
Bring covered shoes, and tie your hair up.
Please bring a drink, a snack for morning tea and packed lunch.
