Clay & Wine with Fiona McLeod

This round of Clay & Wine provides two options of objects to make, participants can choose between a tea light house or a light ball (created from pinch pot bowls) all whilst enjoying the beautiful atmosphere of Space Studio & Gallery, company of friends and refreshments – it’s time to shake off those winter chills and get creative!

Tea light house:

If you choose this option you will roll out slabs of clay, cut out the shapes to make your house. The houses will be your design so come with a style in your mind. You will then cut out the windows, add window frames and climbing plants if you wish. Fiona will show you how to join the parts together. She will fire and glaze houses once dry. You will get to choose one colour to glaze the houses.

Light Ball:

For this option you will make pinch pot bowls of similar sizes and evenness to join together. You will get to make one or maybe two balls. Once the balls are made you will sketch a design on the ball as a plan of where the light is going to shine out and then cut the patterns out. Once dry Fiona will fire and glaze the balls the colour of your choice. If you make two balls she will do two different colours.

Houses and balls will be collected from Space Studio and Gallery approximately 6 weeks after the workshop. Ticket price includes all materials, a complimentary glass of wine or juice and nibbles.
