‘Backwards and Forward – Echoes from Taco’ - 15th May - 8th June.
Hand pulled posters and other ephemera from a private collection form the base of this exhibition. In the 1980’s the dynamic Taranaki artist collective ‘TACO’ were active in running a series of exhibitions, - among them, the annual ‘Renonsense’. Back then they set up shared studio spaces around New Plymouth that sometimes doubled as gallery spaces, at other times presenting what are now known as ‘pop up’ shows around the mountain. Current works from some of the now mature artists give an indication of the continuity of the creative process.
An interactive space will be set aside for visitors inspired by the exhibition to make their own graphics with a space to show them at the gallery.
