11am – 11.30am               Poi presentation. Free, all welcome.

A public presentation about ‘poi’ with Racquel McKenzie (Ngā Paerangi, Te Ātihaunui a Pāpārangi). Learn about whakapapa of the poi, history, types of poi and contemporary poi today.

11.40 - 12.30pm               Poi making. Closed event, limited to 20 people.   

Following the presentation, there is the chance to take part in a poi making workshop and waiata session with Racquel. Book your place at the Front of House or through our website. All materials will be supplied and you will get to take your poi home with you.

Venue: Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery in the event space

Cost: $15 per person as a contribution towards material costs
