Rebekah Pearson exhibition

Rebekah is an illustrator, painter and ceramic artist. She published her first illustrated picture book A Tribe of Kiwi in 2019. This book is an illustrated compilation of collective nouns for twenty of NZ's native birds such as A Spectacle of Waxeyes and A Haunting of Ruru.

Most of her inspiration is taken from her natural environment and in finding ways to spread awareness on how we can protect it.

In addition to illustrations, Rebekah is displaying ceramic art. The Flying Ruru sequence was created in Ivan Vostinar’s Studio in Castlecliff.  The Nikau lights is a combination of blown glass made in the NZ Glassworks with Philip Stokes and raku fired ceramics with the help of Duncan Smith at the Whanganui Potters Society.
