In this all-ages, drop-in workshop, we’ll explore the memories and stories held within heirlooms and keepsakes with Keri-Mei Zagrobelna, one of the artists in He momo nā te whānau, our contemporary jewellery exhibition. At the end, you’ll leave with a unique necklace, brooch, or wearable artwork infused with personal meaning!
Using foam board, tracing, and colour shadows, Keri-Mei will help you design and assemble your piece. Alongside practical making skills, we’ll reflect on memory, heritage, and the symbolism of adornment. The atmosphere is supportive and creative, welcoming beginners and experienced makers alike.
All you need to bring are 1 – 5 special objects (no larger than an A5 piece of paper) or photos/ photocopies of larger objects, we’ll provide the rest!
This is a free event, but donations are always welcome and help us to keep running meaningful activities.
