Thread Painting Workshop - Freeform stitching

At: out of the blue studio gallery-Opunake

Tutor: Anne Garvey

Cost: $65 (includes some provided materials).

Learn to draw with your sewing machine. This technique allows you to embellish work, quilt, and add texture, depth and interest to your work.  Come and learn a new skill with your sewing machine.

Bring:

* Food for a shared lunch

*Your sewing machine with manual, and a darning foot/freeform quilting foot . Your machine needs to be able to "drop the feed dogs" (these are the little ridges under the needle plate)

* spare needles and pins

*threads that suit fabric

* scissors

*pen and paper

*A piece of cotton fabric with either a clear design or a pictorial graphic. Clear lines will work best. Please don't buy material. Either recycle a piece of clothing/fabric or look in your local op-shop. We will work on an A4 size.

I will provide batting and backing.
