Gover St Gallery is an Independent, self supporting, not-for-profit, community-focused Art Gallery. The brainchild of Heidi and Mike Griffin, which opened just before the 2020 lockdown, not great timing but has gone from strength to strength.
Gover St Gallery is open to Taranaki and NZ artists to display their work. Representing over 500 artists and with multiple exhibitions at any one time, under one roof, the artwork displayed is varied, eclectic and always changing.
Gover St Gallery is a large, relaxed and enjoyable space with great music. Artists, visitors and locals marvel at the huge creative talent Taranaki and New Zealand has to offer. With events, exhibitions, working studios and a very instagram'able exterior mural painted by local artist, Dwayne Duthie, Gover St Gallery is well worth a visit when in New Plymouth.
