Kingsroy is a destination for visitors to interact with art, lighting, jewellery, furniture and objects. Situated in the creative western end of New Plymouth at 106 Devon Street West, New Plymouth, and just around the corner from the Len Lye Centre and Govett-Brewster Art Gallery.
In store, an entrance space invites you in from the street, artworks are displayed across two gallery spaces, and bespoke furniture & fittings are part of the careful curation of the Kingsroy showroom.
Online, visitors can view current exhibitions and an extensive stockroom with many works from New Zealand artists.
Owner Luella Raj holds a strong belief in the importance of art in the community. While not a maker herself, she is passionate about the process of creating and is dedicated to supporting artists, following and encouraging their practice and sharing with buyers what goes into the creation of each original work.
Formerly an electrical company founded by two friends, Kingsroy Electrical was a New Plymouth institution for generations. With a long-standing connection to Taranaki, Luella decided to create a new art-filled space and retain the Kingsroy name and some of the history of these premises.
Open Wednesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, KINGSROY features collections of work by established artists from around New Zealand.
Wednesday - Saturday: 10am - 4pm
Sunday - Tuesday: closed
