Local artist, Ephraim Russell created this piece during the Street Prints Papaioea Festival in 2020.
"In response to this year's theme I created these 2 murals titled Tātāu Pounamu (Greenstone door) Depicting peace, love, harmony, tikanga, kawa, taonga, mana whenua, whakapapa, kaitiakitanga, rangimārie.
Highlighting traditional Māori protocols around peace making rituals. Precious gifts were often created to honour the event or objects/whakapapa were exchanged between the two groups to bring harmony between warring tribes." - Ephraim Russell
