A colourful fence made of worn-out surfboards, donated by individuals after the arts council put out the word out for a community arts project. Volunteers cut off fins and stripped wax off the old boards, constructing them along the fence line. "They can see that this is a 'think-outside-the-box' community, a lot of people do a lot for the community, everything that happens in Ōpunakē is because of the people here," said Egmont Community Arts Council secretary Rhonda Crawford back in 2018 during the construction.
