This five-metre high sculpture was commissioned by the Palmerston North Public Sculpture Trust.
Johns, a South Australian-based artist, has a significant history of sculpture practice. This work is based loosely on electromagnetic wave patterns and the heat shimmer of the arid Australian desert. Made of corten steel, the orange-brown colour is formed by a thin layer of oxidation.
