Square Edge Arts Centre

Square Edge is a colourful and vibrant arts centre dedicated to cultural and arts communities. Housing a cafe, a wide range of shops, businesses, classes, and all kinds of artists and performers, the Square Edge Arts Centre offers a myriad of ways to connect creatively, within a beautiful art deco building. Square Edge Arts Centre has been run by Square Edge Community Arts (a not-for-profit community arts organisation)  for over 40 years. We develop and deliver an annual exhibitions programme and work with artists and the community to offer classes, workshops, opportunities, studio and bookable spaces, and events. Come in and check out our new exhibitions each month, wander upstairs past working artists' studios, talk to us about our available workshops and spaces you can hire, enjoy a coffee, and shop for local art, sustainable books, gifts and much more. Our Square Edge tenants and users also offer classes in language, drama, singing, music, dance, art, textiles, and yoga, and perform regular concerts. We have in-house photographers, a picture framer, cabaret and ngā taonga pūoro performers, a sign writer, amongst other creatives.
