The Art Gallery as we know it today was constructed in 1977 on Main St and became part of the Te Manawa complex more than 20 years ago. It houses artworks belonging to the people of Palmerston North, administered by Te Manawa Museums Trust on behalf of the City.
In addition to displaying works from the public collection, it exhibits touring experiences exposing people to a range of styles from both established and emerging local, national and international artists and photographers.
General admission to the Art Gallery is free. Nau mai, haere mai. If you haven’t been in before, now is a good time to discover some of the inspiring work inside.
Please note - mediums represented may differ as displays change seasonally.
