Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, Askew One (Elliot O'Donnell) is a name synonymous with pushing the boundaries of graffiti art. Known for his ability to blend vibrant color schemes, detailed portraiture, and traditional graffiti lettering, Askew One has cemented his status as one of the most influential street artists on a global scale.
Askew One painted this mural when he participated in the Street Prints Papaioea festival in his birth town of Palmerston North, New Zealand in 2020.
He created this 3-story mural that incorporated elements of his recent experiments. It has the layering of street texture with different blending modes shifting colours from positive to negative, it uses the glitch effects from his past years studies, it has the 3D scanned elements wrapped with street texture from the previous studies and it also incorporates a portrait component. Askew also challenged himself to use as little spray paint as possible on this mural.
