When you visit my gallery you will notice that my approach to photography is certainly eclectic, veering, sometimes erratically, from traditional still life and flamboyant florals to capturing the personalities of the many farm animals I come across. For my botanicals I like to use flowers and organic material from my own garden, and as a floral artist I also like to arrange them in a flowing and extravagant way. Some of my artwork is starting to move into the realm of fantasy and I love to see how far I can push the floral and still life concepts, and compete with Mother Nature. Many images don't actually exist, except in my imagination.
Living in the rural Manawatū, I am surrounded by livestock: bulls, sheep, deer, chickens, pigs and working dogs. Some of them seem to demand having their photograph taken. Any animal that catches my eye while I'm driving around is fair game, but many are also my own animals. Bulls are a hot favourite of mine to photograph, and I love discovering their many different personalities - from funny, inquisitive, grumpy, and sometimes rather scary.
Working with multi-layered images and found objects I like to create imaginative artwork which is totally original and unique. None of my work is AI.
I welcome visitors to my little gallery. It isn't flash or pretentious, but there is bound to be something there that tugs at your heartstrings.
(I also have a small selection of antiques and curios for sale.)
