📅 Friday 14th Nov — Evening Session: 6.00pm – 8pm/8.30pm
💲 $90
Roll, shape, and join clay to create a trio of small cylindrical vases - perfect for single blooms, cute posies, freshly cut herbs, or a few found wildflowers. Experiment with textures, carve patterns, press in natural finds, add splashes of colour, add quirky faces or keep them simple with an understated wabi-sabi vibe. No matter what, each little vase will emerge with its own unique and charming personality that everyone will love!
Suzanne will guide you every step with tips, tricks, and encouragement, then lovingly glaze and twice-fire your creations. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup in 3–4 weeks (or can be couriered to you for an additional cost).
Your ticket includes all clay, tools, glazing, firings, and light refreshments. Workshops are held in Suzanne’s creative space in Ashhurst — and you’re welcome to BYO your favourite drink to sip while you create. No experience is needed — just come super-ready to play and have some fun!
Suzanne McAllen is a very experienced local potter based in Ashhurst, where the casual shop on her verandah offers a changing selection of her handmade pottery. She’s now welcoming you into her creative world — offering workshops, have-a-go sessions on the pottery wheel, and relaxed bisque-painting experiences.
For the Manawatū Garden Festival, Suzanne is opening her charming creative space for two special adult workshops (Trio of Quirky Bud Vases on 14th November and Funky Statement Vase on 16th November). This is an opportunity to relax and step away from the everyday, spark your imagination, have a laugh and enjoy the company of other adults while making something completely your own. Come with a friend, or meet new ones here.
Please follow the link to the Manawatū Garden Festival to purchase your ticket.
Please allow 2 to 2.5 hours for this workshop.
