[ABOUT SPEAKER] Dawn Sanders began her 'love affair' with Shakespeare at the age of 7. When she was 15, she eagerly devoured his Complete Works. As a member of Wellington Shakespeare Society from her mid-teens, in 1983 Dawn became involved in the Globe Theatre Hangings Project, being appointed Project Manager and seeing the project through to its completion, touring the Hangings nationally, internationally and having them presented to Shakespeare’s Globe in London in 1994. After bringing instigator of the reconstruction of Shakespeare’s Globe in London, the late Sam Wanamaker in 1990, mid the following year, she founded Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand of which she is CEO.
