Haiku Exhibit - Celebrating Poetry in its Shortest Form

Date & Time: 1:00 pm August 27, 2022
- 5:00 pm August 28, 2022

National Poetry Day takes place in August and for this 25th year rather than celebrate just one day, local poets are creating a number of events for the community to enjoy. It should be a great weekend. On Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August, visit the Haiku Exhibit and come and add your own 5-7-5 syllable poem. On the Saturday 27th August :  Mikaela Nyman will be hosting the adults workshop at 1-3pm and Helen Griffiths will be hosting the children's workshop from 3.30-4.30pm. These poetry workshops are free but have limited spaces so booking is essential.

Contact Helen 021 0245 6720 to book your place.

On Sunday 28th August at 3pm : the festivities will culminate with a Haiku High Tea where you can enjoy the finalised exhibit, listen to local poets share a selection of their haikus and enjoy some Japanese treats. Please RSVP to Helen 021 0245 6720, for catering purposes if you plan on coming along.
